One of the best makes of Indian cinema, Paan Singh Tomar is one of those few films that leaves a profound impact on you. Based on a true story, it transports you to another world all together. A reality which very few of us are aware of. Utterly astonishing script with its own set of ‘playful sense of humor’ filled dialogues. The film with its sub titles in english insures you don’t miss out on the typical ‘chambal dialect’. Irrfan Khan has put up an exquisite performance. He never lets our eyes wander off from his character and cause. You are sure to be moved by the journey which crumbles the international sports man into a rebel.
The movie is not a romantic but an honest and a powerful creation. The director Tigmanshu Dhulia has done a very good job in reflecting the story very simply, yet leaving us lost in our thoughts much after its over.
Paan Singh Tomar, already premiered at the British film institute London film festival, deserves much more attention than its getting at the moment, owing to its weak open marketing.
For all those unfortunate people who have yet to watch it, you are missing out on an amazing make. Its surely a must watch! and trust me no false promises here. Paan Singh Tomar is unmissable, specially when you are on a look out for some sensible movie.
Do watch it and if you feel anything different about it, feel free to discuss it here! 🙂
